Talk about squirrels chewing up you home. Well, this was the probem. I hired Critter Control of Boston. The first time, my neighbor and I had a shared problem of squirrels infiltrating our homes and eating away at the joices. I could hear them chewing!! Our homes are 5 story brownstones. The squirrels were on the 5th level doing their damage. Critter Control of Boston responded rapidly, assessed the problem and went to work, very professionally, catching the "chew culprits" and removing them from the premises. Critter Control of Boston brought the proper ladder to reach the 5th level of the building. Dan Master sealed up the entrance hole the squirrels were using. I hope this problem with the squirrels does not occur again. However, if it does, I will call Critter Control of Boston to correct the problem.

I own a large property management company that works with banks who have foreclosed homes with tenants still living in them. The situations can be very sensitive as the tenants are in a confusing and anxious period of their lives and have no idea what the next day may bring. I received an order from a bank that a property in Chelsea, MA, had young children living in the home and squirrels were getting into the attic and actually eating through the walls and accessing the living areas of the house. We called Critter Control at the ungodly hour of 6:30 AM this morning (5/ 10/11) to report a problem we were having with a dead skunk that had died (as luck would have it) inside the space between the basement and the outside wall of the house. Oh, the stench! We had had another pest control company come the day before, with no success. THAT company's employee merely noticed we had a terrible smell (really?), hypothesized where it could come from (after I led the technician practically to the spot itself), used our ladder to make a cursory examination of the area, didn't see anything, and then said he couldn't do anything anyway if it involved removing any wood to get at the animal. Then he charged $98 for the service call.
On the other hand, Critter Control, to our great (and very happy) surprise, after I had left a brief message on their voicemail, called back within 5 minutes (thank you, Ben!) and had a technician come to our aid by 8:30 AM. Ed from C. Control, a wonderful, knowledgeable, and very helpful man brought *his own ladder* and found the animal (in the same spot as was indicated by yesterday's pest control guy) within about 5 minutes. (He actually practically climbed into the space to locate it, unlike yesterday's technician, who waved his flashlight around for a bit, then clambered down the ladder because he couldn't see anything.) 
After thoroughly investigating how best to remove it, Ed did so without any damage to any walls, AND he fortified the exterior of the house where the skunk most likely got in, AND sprayed the area with lovely-smelling citrus spray, removing all the debris in the hole where the animal was to help clear out the smell quicker (and then he let us keep the rest of the bottle of citrus spray for use later). All this, and he honored the $20 service call discount C.Control offers in its ad in the Yellow Pages. We can breathe easy (literally!) again. Thank you Ed and thank you Critter Control!  If ever we are assailed by anything dead, stinky, or just plain annoying (in the animal line), you will be the first people we call.
